Together we have happily shared in the comedy and the seriousness of these golden years by participating in the various activities of our alma mater. In this the eighteenth edition ofthe Ash-Hi-Life we wish to present a picture of our school days as we shall always remember them . . . in the words of Shakespeare we present our theme . . . To these people who have given of their lives, energies, and devotions we humbly dedicate this book that it might serve as a taken of our thanks for their efforts in making our school one in which we shall always have pride. As Asheboro High School is dedicated to the promotion of our democratic society through education, so these women have dedicated themselves to education through their unselfish serv- ices to our school. if 46 Therefore, we gratefully dedicate this, the eighteenth volume of our year- book, to Mrs, Mildred Criscoe for her untiring spirit in helping the teachers and the students, and to Mrs, Dorothy Walker far her work as the Student Council sponsor and our Senior Class advisor, Na words can express our gratitude to these two, so we merely say, Thank you. The patient, understanding, the helpful, ever-ready teachers. The teachers that shape and mold our futures.'As the years go by we more fully recognize their value. They are as priceless as diamonds, as necessary as the air we breathe. Where would we be? What would we know, without them? We remember each teacher-the way, when we had problems, all we had to do was ask their help. Their understanding and kindness were the balm that smoothed the wrinkles out of our pathway of life. When and if we are successful, we shall look back and think: I could never have done it without the wisdom and benignity of my teachers. They were my great- est helpmeets along the long hard road to success. Let us never forget them, our teachers, our guiding hands. A GREAT DAY There was a tangy autumn nip in the afternoon air. Above the chattering and cheering of the crowd could be heard the sound of music as the school band came into view. All types of gayly decorated cars and floats bear- ing the Queens For A Day , followed. Long after the cavalcade of color had passed, the compliments and exclama- tions lingered. As the music faded we turned toward home to get ready for the big night. The air was charged with excitement, like static electricity. It was a good game!
