Thirty-four of this number have plodded together since entering high school on that eventful September day in IQZS Forty-six are citizens by birth, fourteen were born in Ashe boro: eighteen, in Randolph County. outside of Asheboro eight in other arts o . , p f North Carolinag six. in other states: and one. in Canada, In the Sophomore year Nancy Lou and Margaret Craven came from Greensboro to join our class: in the same year Nan Andrews came from Raefordg Ruth Anderson. from Peters' burg. Va.: Linnie Brown, from Ramseut: Virginia Lambert. from Libertyl Eva Sanfor Laurinburg: John Richardson. from Trinity, and Raymond Siler, from Elon College, ln our Junior year the class welcomed Ollie De Moss from Burlington and Geneva d, from Stoclxner from Old Church, Va. ln l93l lna Parks from Melbourne, Fla., and Ruth Soady from.Garner, became members. From these facts it may be inferred that our class is not handicapped by a local viewpoint, but is almost cosmopolitan in its make-up, Nineteen of its component parts are handsome and valiant: twenty-'eight are charming and demure. From its combined height of nearly two hundred and fifty eight feet. this class could look into the windows of the fifteenth story of the Woolivorth building in New York City From such an elevation how far can we not see? The combined weight of our class is four thousand two hundred and eightyeeight pounds weight surely enough to anchor its feet to prosaic work, even though its head is in the clouds The combined brain of the seniors would fill approximately one hundred and seventy tumblers. ls it to be wondered at that this class can discern no impossibilities through its four-score eyes and fourteen, with such a brain to direct those eyes in the right' direction' Not singly, but' together, has ever been the watchword of this Senior class, and to' gether it has waxed sturdy and invincible. During the first year the members were numerous and most unimportant Owing to their extreme youth and uneducated minds. all were known as Greenies ln the Sophomore year We became more harbarous and war-lilte, because we remembered the mortifications of the Freshman year. In the third year all the excitement and the dispute over the Junior-Senior Banquet came Then also came the honor of having some members of '32 chosen as marshals for com' mencement. ln the fourth and last year of the class we have reached the twin heights of cumulation and glorification: and this brings the survey up to the present time. Nancy Lou Craven. not sweet sixteen as yet, is the youngest member of our class, while Robert Brittain, with the dignity of twenty years. is the oldest, The combined years of this wonderful class are seven hundred and eighty-'-seven. which is no mean age, even in comparison with that of Methuselah. Consider the wisdom of .1 class which has seven hundred and eighty-seven years. Empires have risen and fallen, wars have been declared and wong fads have swept the earth and died out since its eyes first sau the light of day Vwlith what an accumulation of experience and wisdom will it go forth into the world. Have we not good reason to expect great things from this body of young men and women?
