On September 15th the clothing sale, convened by Mrs. XY. XVhit- marsh, proved a financial success as well as a not inconsiderable boon to those who were enabled, through it, to make exchanges in outgrown school clothing for their boys. November 8th was the occasion of the Old Boys' Luncheon fhlrs. lf. A. Flood, Mrs. C. M. Cleary, and Mrs. T. XY. Fisher convening! was much enjoyed by all Old Boys, parents and friends who were able to attend. The Spring Tea and Sale, originally scheduled for Friday, May 6th, gracefully and loyally yielded place to the Royal XYedding falso fixed for that datej but was held a week later on Friday the 13th. ln spite of thc date, it is understood that the affair was quite successful. The .'Xshburian extends its sympathies to the president of the or- ganization in her unfortunate skiing accident, and again its thanks to the members ol the Cluild for their valuable contributions to the School.

Lake- field, Ontario on Saturday. April l6th. with Nlr. ,lack Xlatthews in the chair. After a short business meeting. Dr. R. XY. B. jackson was intro- duced. He is the Director of the Department of lfducational Research. Ontario College of Education. His morning topic was Objective Type Testing . ln his address he spoke of all the work currently being done by his Department in Grades IX and Xll. with an extended elaboration on the Objectives of the Testing Program and comments. He also told us of what could be expected for the next few years. After a good lunch. the meeting re-convened. and Dr. jackson spoke on Testing again. This time he broke his topic down into lab Types of Exams . lbb Types of Questions Cel Objective Type of Questions Cdl Setting and .Nlarking Examinations . He emphasized the importance of using the talents we have in this province to the fullest advantage to make a greater contribution to the future. XYe were most fortunate in securing an excellent orchestra. and the building proved ideal for the occasion. Receiving the guests were the Headmaster and Xlrs. R. H. Perrv. the Co-Captains of the School, Bill Wilson and john Sarltis. and Xliss Susan Fairburn. Once again we were pleased to see a large nuniher of Governors, Old Boys, and friends of the School present, and we hope that even more will attend in future years. o Z X
