SSttm CLASS prcw ifc The 77 MR. CATO, OUR PRINCIPAL TO THE SENIOR CLASS OF 1957: I have enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity of having s?rved as your principal during your Senior year. I have learned to love and respect each of you. As you leave the classrooms and halls of Ashburn High School, the best wishes of the faculty go with you. It is the wish of every member of the faculty that you have a long and happy life. In the years you have spent in Ashburn School, we hope you have acquired the necessary tools and funda mentals in order to succeed in the next ta sk facing you. We trust you have developed the strength of character that will give you a desire to be found active in the defense of right and justice. There is no place where there is greater competition in life than in America. People are striving for power over others, for prestige, and money. The well trained and qualified individual will usually gain and be more successful in securing their desires. 1 would like to urge as many as as possible to continue your preparation by going to college. Remember always to be ladies and gentlemen in the best sense of that term, or the school has failed. REMEMBER TO FIND SOMEWAY TO STAY HAPPY FOR WHEN YOU ARE SAD, YOU GROW PLAIN: AND WHEN YOU GROW PLAIN, YOU GROW BITTER AND WHEN YOU ARE BITTER, YOU ARE VERY DISAGREEABLE AND A DISAGREEABLE PERSON HAS NOTHING NEITHER FRIENDS, LOVERS, NOR CONTENTMENT. We wish you the greatest success it is possible for you to attain. MR. DOYLE WOODWARD Commercial MRS. H. E. JONES Librarian MR. W. H. HARDIN JR. Coach and Social Sc. MRS. LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ASHBURN SENIOR CLASS Wt e, the members of the 1957 class of Ashburn High School, being of sound mindf?) and body, do hereby will and bequeath the following: To our good friends of the Junior Class, we leave our patience and meekness. It will be found useful as the only means of graduation. We give and bequeath to the dear Faculty, all the amazing knowledge and startling information we have furnished them from time to time in our various examination papers. M,e know that much we have imparted to them in this way must have been entirely new to them, as well as to all teachers and students everywhere, and would throw much new light on many a hitherto fam- iliar line of thought, throughout the whole world of science and learning, even outside the walls and halls of Ashburn High. If the faculty sees fit, they are hereby authorized to give out such of this information to the world as they may feel the world is ready to receive. We trust they will also feel at perfect liberty to make use of all such bits of wisdom and enlightenment for the education of the classes to come after us.
