BSU QBrothers and Sisters United! is a service organiza- tion that is involved in school and community projects. The Brothers and Sisters United help with the March of Dimes, help with groups working against Sickle-Cell Anemia, and other projects. Brothers and Sisters United members are ready and willing to help with any school or community related project. The FCA lFel1owship of Christian Athletesj is a school sponsored club that brings players from all of the different sports offered here at Ashbrook into a united visible fellowship brought about by their faith. Some goals of this club are to bring more sportsmanship con- A duct to their games, better at- titudes, and to help understand the differences in other people's beliefs. The American Field Service Club of Ashbrook sponsors foreign exchange students. There are two foreign ex- change students this year. They are Nafselina Canari from Greece and Alexandra Van Oosterhout from Holland. The AFS sponsors activities for the foreign exchange students, and they also pay for some of the cost of their stay here. club devoted to encouraging the preser- vation of the environment and the depleting natural resources. Through such projects as paper drives, the club hopes to complete the landscaping pro- ject in front of the school. Row five: Paulette Worthy, Carla Armstrong, Patricia The Junior Heart Board en- courages young people to learn more about health careers and to aid in the fight against heart disease. Mem- bers assist the Gaston County Heart Association in its endeavors to help those who are in need of its care. The Junior Heart Board meets with other board mem- bers throughout the county to report on their progress. They also help out at the Heart House here in Gastonia. .Q-N.. 4- TAPS fTeen Action Programl of Ashbrook is one of the very important service clubs to the community and especially to the March of Dimes Association. The Teen Action Program helps with fund raising projects for handicapped children not only in Gastonia and Gaston County but also on the national level. Ashbrook is lucky to have the County President, Luellen Painter, here at school. The Teen Ac- tion Program is one of the more active clubs at school, and the members work very hard also for the school. Lowery,and Elisa Elliott.
