1 C Coaching Staff O Lord, guide me that I may build a team that will be strong enough to know when they are weak and brave enough to face themselves when they encounter the opponentg a team that will be proud and unbending in defeat but humble and gentle in victoryg a team that will know that to know them- selves is the foundation stone of all true competi- tion. May I coach them, I pray, not in the paths of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenges. May I also teach them to leam compassion for those who fail. Help me build a team whose hearts will be clean, a team that will set high goals, a team that will leam to laugh yet never forget how to weep: a team that will reach into the future yet never forget their training. And as l coach, may l add, that I will ln- still into them enough ofa sense of humor so they may always be serious yet never tal-te thmeselves too seriously, a touch of humility so they may always remember the simplicity of true greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, and the meekness of true strength.
