The studentnewspaper on the seminary campus is oppropriatelytitled THE SHORT CIRCUIT . This year it has made its circuit of the seminary family on a bi-weekly basis, and has en- deavored to present pertinent news and views to the student body. Copy for THE SHORT CIRCUIT this year has included information regarding current events on both Asbury campuses, and feature articles on facultymembers, students, and student prob- lems. Special attention has been devoted to the newly-formed Inter-Group Seminary Committee, in explaining and promoting this new step in student-seminary relationships. A small corps of efficient writers has served faithfully, helping to make THE SHORT CIR- CUIT newsy and interesting. Regular features which students have come to look for include the sports page, written replete with sports jargon by Dave Hill, and the breezy bits of prose and poetry written by Bob Haslam under the caption of The Fifth Column. .gzorf Graaff .SL The unseen work behind the finished product of a yearbook in- volves the co-operation and effort of numbers of students. The entire group does work that includes ed- iting, planning pages, writing copy, proofreading, research, make-up of pages, typing, and many other phases of work. There are many hours of individual work that fill the many units of research and planning. There are also the hours of working together in which, like the old fashioned working bees, everyone working on the Yearbook gathers to complete the output of the various units, meeting dead- lines of the publisher at various in- tervals. The Seminarian photo- graphystaff brightens every T occasion of historical inter- est on the campus . 5,,,,1.,.f se' 'ei'if!l, I abtorb Week after week students go from Asbury Seminary into outlying areas of Kentucky qnd surrounding states, pastoring from one to four churches. Theirs is the diffi- culttask of discharging pastoral obligations in three days and Seminary obligations in the remaining four. Their record, as both pastors and students, is a tribute to the quality ot the training and character of these men . The burdens they bear in so Christ-like a way foretellsagreat ministry as Asbury alumni . 55 Student Pastors Tom Murphy Donald Bastian
