DR. J. C. McPHEETERS vA! Message ae ee Che There are 771 names on the roster of the Asbury Theological Seminary Alumni Associa- tion. Almost 100 of the alumni, 97 to be exact are now heralds of the blessed gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in the mission fields of the world, The compulsion of the missionary message for the redemption of the peoples who sit in dark- ness, through the power of Christ, has sent grad- uates of the seminary out unto the ends of the earth. They are now preaching and teaching in 23 countries of the world, including the lands of Asia, Africa, North America, Oceania, and South America. A stream of students are now coming to the seminary from other lands who will go back to Os ELEOM preach the gospel to their own people. Places of large responsibility and opportunity await these evangels of the cross, because of their unique fitness in knowledge of their native tongue and understanding of their racial and national problems. Five of the twenty foreign students, representing eleven different countries, graduate this year. We already have applica- tions from five other foreign students for the school year 1952-53. A perennial stream of Spirit-filled mission- aries are are on the march from the campus of Asbury Theological Seminary to carry the glo- rious gospel message that the lands which now sit in darkness may see a great light, that the oppressed may be liberated, and that the lost may be saved unto an uttermost salvation. FEE EEE w oa Turkington By their fruits ye shall know them, has been the distinguishing char- acteristic of Spirit-filled men down across the Christian centuries. The fruitage of such a life is to be seen in the influence of our own Dean Turkington. As a respected teacher and capable administrator, he has represented to us a high ideal of Christian learning. His classes in New Testament have added inspiration to facts, and his calm Christian spirit has won our confidence. With the future before us, we trust that we | might be ambassadors of this same spirit, as our Lord calls us into all the world. | WILLIAM D. TURKINGTON i | ; j ' t
