Lanette Eck reads Senior class wills. Joe Boddicker presents Citizenship Award to Reesa Rothm eye r. HONORS AWARDED Dale Lenz was the MC for the Awards Day pro- gram, May 15. Betty Herrig read the senior class historyg Kathy Ma- son, the poem, and Lan- ette Eck, the will. The faculty presented the awards, some of which included: recognition of Diane J ohnson's athletic: won an ISU scholarship, Darlys Ewoldt, a Drake Fine Arts Scholarship, and Lyle Podey, a Buena Vista athletic scholarship. The combination of quarterback Rodney Koch and end Lyle Podey gained many yards for the Rockets in 1972 for which they received statewide recognition. Here Coach Deming presents them with one of many awards. honors, cheerleading awards, and scholarships. Reesa Rothmeyer and Mr. Mann watches as band students receive awards. Dale Lenz received State of Iowa honors. Dale Betty Herrig was the recipient of the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow award.

,M I 5 with - . ,i . in Q AWV Graduates 38 During May 18 Exercises Baccalaureate exercises were held Sunday, May 13 at 8 p.m. The Rev. Ira Williams of the United Church of Christ offered the invocation and benediction, and the Rev. Roger Williams of the Wheatland Presbyterian Church gave the sermon. The Roger Mann Singers and Brass Sextet were on hand for musical entertainment. On Friday, May 18 at 8 p.m., Thirty-eight seniors stepped out into the world as they were honored at the Commencement exercises. The main speaker was Mr. Emmett F. Butler, a public relations specialist from Newton, Iowa. Mr. Butler's speech was entitled The Challenge of Change. Three honor students were named from the class Those maintaining a 3 0 rade avera e - - 8 Q or better for four years were: Dale Lenz, Sheryl Oeser, and Reesa Rothmeyer. Diplomas were presented to the class by Mr. David Freese, president of the Board of Educa- tion at Ar-We-Va following his response to the presentation of the class of 1973 to the Board.
