Scott Slechta, Mark Crane, Terry Lewis, Leesa Dettbarn, Sylvia Wenzel SIX SPEAKERS T0 STATE CO TES: Four students participated in the District Speech Contest in Denison, January 20. They were Karla Petersen, Darlis Maasen, and Rhonda and Karen Gottsch, These girls received a I rating for their choral reading, and therefore qualified for the State Contest held in Council Bluffs. Sixteen contestants then represented AWV at the District Individual Speech Contest held in Denison on February 24. Of these, two participants qualified for ,the State Contest. They were: Jill Kroeger, interpre- tive proseg and Gloria Witt, book review.
