H wif' ' ' , fit oronafion eremonie5 The 1963 Homecoming proceedings started October 4 at 2:00 with the coronation ceremonies. The three Queen Candidates entered to the strains of Pomp and Circumstanceug Linda Bell escorted by Tom Hoogestraat, Barbara Koch escorted by Steven Kracht, and Suzanne Thomsen escorted by Ron Crane. Michael Segebart, Master of Cere- monies, introduced each class who in turn pre- sented a skit. The speaker for the afternoon was Rev. Vernon Gundermann. As suspense mounted, the all-important enve- lope was opened and readg announcing Linda Bell as our 1963 Homecoming Queen. Linda was crowned by her escort Tom Hoogestraat, and presented a dozen red roses and the game foot- ball. After a pep meeting, ledbythe cheerleaders, thoughts turned to the football game and the dance that followed. As the game was about to start, Queen Linda was escorted to the football field by Larry Siebert: she presented the game ball to the Co- Captains for the night, Steven Kracht and Larry Thiedeman. At half-time, the Queen and her court were presented to the Homecoming crowd. A victory dance was planned, and a victory dance it was, as the Rockets defeated Charter- Oak-Ute 33-6. As the dance ended, everyone agreed the 1963 Homecoming was a complete success.
