'L IF sleadying influence . . . T L 4 W z ,pf mf Eecfiaafion To you, Mrs. Cleo Kittell, we dedicate the Praeterita of the school year T956-1957. You have always been a friend to those needing help and a patient counselor and adviser. As one of the pioneer teachers at Arvin High School you have helped to initiate and then support many of the activities that are now school traditions. These activities include the Senior Girls' Tea and the Senior Banquet. Today, as Dean of Girls and adviser to Girl's League, you are helping many of us to build the confidence in ourselves that is necessary in order that we will develop our abilities to their utmost and, thus, be prepared to accept our share of responsibility. We sincerely hope that by dedicating this year's Praeterita to you, we can show you some of our appreciation. Thank you, Mrs. Kittell, for being such a kind and helpful friend to us all. . . . calm counsel and construclire lvrrrlvrslzip will provide the Franklin D. Roosevelt ie is I P r . Q xi' Q 6 , I7 X I

Every day opportunities are opened to us to help Arvin High School grow into the finest school in Kern County. It is your duty to use every moment possible to help make that pos- sibility become a probability. We, the staff of the Praeterita, hope that as you are looking through this yearbook you will see many ways you can help Arvin High grow into a finer school than it has already proven itself to be. 1 ' 'l - - --- L..
