5+ ,ez ln f' Mrs. Mac, Genevieve Magruder was born in Pasa- dena, California. She and her, brother are the only children of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kratka. By the age of fifteen she had graduated from high school. She then attended Bakersfield Junior College and later the University of Southern California for which her loyalty is still strong. She went on to obtain her Master's Degree at the university. ln June l94O Mrs. Magruder married her husband, Don. Qhorrie, their only child, is eleven and one of the top students in her class at William Penn Mrs. Magruder taught at East Bakersfield High School before coming to Arvin in I949. She is now head of our Soical Studies Department and of the Kern County Union High School District Social Studies Department With great pride we dedicate this l956 PRAETERITA to Genevieve Magruder for being not only an out standing teacher, but a friend as well
