Though the Cats met five teams in pre-season action who were ranked in Colorado's Top Ten prep squads, they still ended up with a 5-3 record. Included in this pre-season action was the first A. W. Christmas Tournament which the Wildcats won by defeating Golden and Mullen. In league action the AW squad finished in a second place tie behind the League Champion Farmers, with a 4-3 record. 30
