The footsteps of one hundred and ten freshmen sounded in the halls of Arvada High School on registration day, September 29-30, 1940. They elected Eugene Feazell, president; Bill Jump, vice-president; Betty Dean Mote, secretary; and Johnny Miller, treasurer; who, with the class sponsor. Miss Ellen Hambly, cooperated whole-heartedly on the undertaking of any activity. Social life began with the first class party, the outstanding event of the year. Later in the year an all-school party was given, at which a large group of freshmen were present. In February they entertained the upper-classmen at an assembly program In which 25 freshmen participated. Athletics, Twirlers, Glee Clubs, Future Homemakers, and Future Farmers of America are some of the forms of activities in which freshmen have participated. We will strive to develop a greater spirit of cooperation among classmates; a desire to share responsibilities, whether individually or collectively;and Increase the initiative of fellow students in future years at Arvada High School.
