When these meh tcck office luly l, l948, they were faced with the task cf adjusting school operations as they had existed tc the new cornmunity unit system. By August 23, l9-48, the high school and the grade school in Arthur as well as fourteen outlying schools were ready for the year. New bus routes were set upg a hot lunch program was begun, the new farrn mechanics and industrial arts room was completed, the seventh and eighth grades were moved to the high school building to acccrrirnodate the increased enrollment in the grade school. These are a few of the accomplishments of these men. We are proud of them. We feel that they reflect the progressive spirit of our community. Row l: Glen lurgens, H, L.
