The Future Homemakers of America has an active chapter at A.T.H.S. its members are students who have at one time been enrolled in home econ- omics courses. Regular meetings, at which timely and constructive programs were pre- sented, were held the first Tuesday of each month. A few highlights of the social program were the get together to welcome the freshmen, a potluck supper, and initiation of the freshmen. Guided by Miss Ochs, the home ec-ers have learned the carry over value of classroom work. Since then there have been many other memorable hikes, especially the one to Atwood. Organized play periods and supervised activities have enabled many members to earn G.AA. letters and awards. GAA. is state-wide. lt is sponsored by the lllinois League ot High School Girls' Athletic Associations to stimulate interest and participation in girls' athletic activities. F. The Arthur Chapter of the Future Farmers of America is an organization for boys who are interested in farming. Among the excellent and profitable projects of the club were the testing of milk in the community, testing seeds to find and improve their quality, testing soil to determine its needs, acquainting farmers with pests, and helping to exterminate them. The boys helped to finance their activities by selling popcorn at all foot' ball and basketball games. Officers for the year were: Keith Phillips, president, Edward Davis, vice- president, Bob I-liggenson, secretaryg Bob Harden, treasurer, lohn Schrock, reporterg and Lyle Huffman, sentinel.
