PROPHECY Last night I dreamed of a party at A. T. H. S. All my classmates came, dressed in their best. 'Twas alumni night, and again once more We gathered together as in days of yore. Each told of his fate since leaving our School, Interesting things had happened from '45-'52, For four more years since eventful '45 Some had kept our honor-record alive. Norma lean and Edna continued their studies you know, Until they changed their names for their H. S. beauxs. Yes, Wilma's well known on the stage Aubum hair and those brown eyes quite the rage. Carolyn is a teacher, a cross old maid, Fern is a seamstress and very well paidp LaVerne is a mannequin in a Salon of fame, lean, is its business head, Iones and Iones by name. Stanley ci contract with Disney has signed To voice Donald Duck his purse is well lined. Mary W. is the wife of a Postal clerk Happy and contented with her housework. Leona never married but is happy and gay, She gives dancing lessons the live long day. David Schuetz is a pilot of a transport plane, Yes, his stewardess is Edith Moody by name. Marilou, you know, is a preacher's wife, And lives a pious and devoted life. Melvin is still looking for the girl of his heart, He is anxious to settle down, and to farming start. Gerald and Harold are on a team of All Stars, Professional players known near and far. Gerald hopes the schedule will not interfere With a little blonde who graduates from college this year. Donald has finally found his true love, And goes around cooing like a love sick dove. Paul's married-his wife you can guess, His worries are over, he does confess. Billy Watkins a livestock judge of note, He couldn't make the party but he wrote. Ross Lacey, I'm told, also travels aroundg As Base Drummer with a band of renown. Donna Sue is a Singer famed far and wide. lim runs a jitney bus while he waits for his bride. 'Tis rumored some day they'll settle down On a profitable farm south of town. Clyde is a florist, his orchids divine, For those who get them he has quite a line, Harold helps him and does very well, I hear they always have fresh flowers to sell, Sara Lou is cz nurse now, you know And Frances set up a Beauty shop a year ago. Ralph is an agent selling Athletic supplies, He knows his line, but still never lies. Bill Bryner is a druggist efficient and polite, He will fill your prescription day or night. Lois is a lawyer's wife, calm and serene And a happier woman never was seen. Now before my fate was revealed I awoke, I was with you, classmates, 'twas no joke. SOPHO ORE CLASS HISTORY Dear Tom. I guess you thought you'd never hear from me again after you dropped out of school last year, but I just must tell you all about the gang in our sophomore class. They're surely an alright bunch. All of them cooking on the front burner, believe me. Last year, as you probably remember, we had Kenny Artis for president, Lindsey Daugherty for vice-president, and Evelyn Moody for secretary- treasurer. This year we nominated Lindsey Doc Daugherty as president, Hoyle Carman as vice-presidentg and Noel Dicks as secretary-treasurer. Our class advisors are the same as last year. They are Miss Diel and Mr. Wise. Do you have any athletics? Say Tom, if our sophomore boys get any bigger and better We'll have every team in the country on the run. Last year there were 30 in our class. That included Noel Dicks who came in during the latter part of the year. This year there are 28 members. There are ll girls and 15 boys. You can see there isn't any man shortage in our class. lim Powell, Leon Hutchings, Iunior South, and Betty Acton have left while Hoyle Carmen has come into our class. Also Ervin Plank left us at the beginning of the second semester of this year. Nearly all of the kids belong to some organization, which includes Home Ec., F. F. A., Dramatic Club, Commercial Club and G. A. A., etc. Remember the play Mumba-Iumbo ? It was the Dramatic Club play you said you liked so well. I guess the reason you liked it so well was because there were some sophomores in it to help make it a success. Carol Howell and Marianna Ritchey really helped it to go over with a bang. There are several in our class that have been on the honor roll every time. They are Doris Lacy, Marianna Ritchey and Mary Williams. There are a few others that have been on it but not every time. Some of us just don't seem to use what brains we do have. At the beginning of the year our class voted Bettyjane Hansen as candidate for queen. Our float was to carry out the theme Harvest Moon and the Horn of Plenty . Bettyjane was dressed in a lavender formal and was seated on a large yellow moon with stars hanging around the moon. Last year Ellen Hendrickson was our candidate for queen. I hope I haven't overlooked anything. I'd like to tell you a million other little things about our classg for instance about the swell time we had at our class party out at Ellen's and also about Carol getting second and Marianna getting third at a music contest held in Charleston, and a million other little things that have come up.
