PROLOGUE The body travels more easily than the mind, and until we have limbered up our imagination we continue to think as though we stayed home. We have not really budged a step until we take up residence in someone else,s oint 0 view. P John Erskine In a world where new nations are emerging every day, it is important that one keeps this idea in mind. One can only hope to live in a world in which there is brotherhood and peace if he is willing to take the time to understand anotheris point of view. This is the idea that every nationis pavilion tries to propagate at the 1965 Worldls Fair: Peace Through Understanding. It is the Worldis Fair and the idea for which it stands that has provided the 1965 LANCE with its theme. It is the sincere hope of the LANCE staff that as the reader once again embarks upon a journey through the 1964-65 academic year and views scenes of the Worldis Fair, he will he reminded of its theme. We have made every effort to make the 1965 LANCE a year- book of which you may justly be proud, and we hope in doing so that we have been able to capture pictorially and verbally for years to come that spirit which has comprised this year at Arthur L. Johnson.
