Faculty Surprises Varsity in old Timers, Game As a finale to the 1961 - 1962 basketball season, an OldvTimers' Night was sponsored by the Athletic Department. The underclassmen of the basketball team played the somewhat youthful, aroused faculty. In a preliminary game the girlst basketball team lost a tightrscoring duel 8-6. The varsity was coached by Les Ragonese and Jim Russo, while Coach Peragallo lead the faculty. The faculty got off to a fast lead but soon were worn down by the rapid pace set by the varsity. It was a nip and tmk game all the way until the last minutes when the older. more experienced faculty sputted ahead and won by 9 points7 55-46. Playing for the faculty were: Cmuh tBombeH Sevetage, Coach tPasseri; Pemgnllu Coach t Foul Show Fulton, Mr. tBack-Btmrch Billingse Mr. tSinkeU SanGiacomo, Coach t Foulem Shustackt Coach tCousw Kelin, and the grand uld man of basketball. Model United Nations Assembly a Success Turmoil broke loose on the Assembly floor as Cuba rushed to the rostrum and assailed the United States. Demonstrators carrying signs broke into the World Assembly and shouted down the delegate from the Union of South Africa. Matters became so heated that lunch had to be postponed. These startling events occurred at the model U. N. General Assembly presented for the first time as a combined effort of our three sister schools on February 7. The preparation and execution of the event was left entirely to the two hundred students who participated, with the teachers setting only the ground rules in the hrst few weeks of work. Early in the school year the students from all three schools were grouped in blocs - Aslan-Alrican, Soviet, Latin American, and Western lALJ repre- sented the Western blocl. By doing a great deal of research and listening to lectures, the students imi- tated each delegate's mannerisms, arguments and actions. In almost all respects, the mock session resembled the real thing and was a worthwhile experience for all who debated on the question of admitting Communist China to the U.N. U. S. delegates N.
