Though the school spirit was unusually high and our starting team very capable, we suHered the casualties of lacking quality reserves. Rebuilding Season Regional's track team this year looked towards rebuilding for next year. The squad was composed mainly of green performers with little experience in the fundamentals of the sport. Coach Severoge looked for the performances of stalwarts Joe Martz, Bob Sevell, and Richie Himpele to boost our team's score. With more experience our team should rank with the best in the county. Next year we'll see how well the boys have learned their iessons. Joe Martz leads the haIf-mile. Under the direction of Mr. Nilan, our boys participated in c Flve-match season with Governor Livingston, Jonathan Dayton and Snyder of Jersey City. We also entered two teams in the Union County Tournament and one team in the State Tournament. The highest aver- age of 171 was sustained by S. Milberger, while the highest three-gome series was 658, posted by F. Hahn, who also rolled the highest single game of the season e 277. F. Hahn picks his ball. Checking the scores. 129 Golf Team Begins Competition Regional found itself with an- other oftspring this year. A golf team, under the leadership of Mr. Fulton, was ofticiolly placed on the roster of our teams. Though this was their First year as a team, the boys have been playing golf for some time. We have one proven player in Walt Lilley who won the Union County Conference Golf Championship two years ago as o freshman. GOLF SCHEDULE April 17 Rohwuy April 20 N , V . Band Supplies Spirit The Crusader band was seen at every football game in full marching regalia cheering the team to victory - with music, of course. Under Mr. Jupina's leadership, the bond lent a colorful highlight to our school. They also participated in a spring concert, inaugurated last year, and did a very fine job pro- ducing good music, delighting all who attend. Heightening school spirit. 131 G.A.A.
