On the first day of school... “Hurry up Mary,” yelled the girls in the back seat. “We’ll be late for first hour.” “I can’t help it. This guy ahead of us can’t find a parking place. Wait! Is that one over there? I’m so confused.” Whether you’re a sophomore or a senior, con- fusion always envelops the first day of school. Everything seems mixed up—classrooms, hall- ways, the parking lot, and the kids. “Now all we have to do is carve a path through the hallway. Oh my gosh! Did you see that guy entering the girls’ bathroom?” Lunch money, schedules, the right exits and the wrong entrances. It seems there’s no end to the school day maze. “Hey Sue! How did you like Arthur Hill? Did you get around o.k.?” “Sure. I’ve been completely organized the entire day—except, oh, I’m wearing my lockermate’s coat.” Legenda 17
