mental Instruction physical practical Sophomores numbering 852 crowded into guidance clas- ses, which introduced them to Arthur Hill, developed their personalities, and taught them better study habits through the use of textbooks and speakers. Physical improvement was achieved through physical education classes. New girls’ physical education instructors were Mrs. Margaret Dietrich and Mrs. Nancy Puehl, who introduced the girls to lifetime sports, such as tennis, bad- minton, swimming, and golf. Mr. Gary Apsey and Mr. Gary Lee helped many students learn to drive this year with behind-the-wheel driver edu- cation classes. Six-week book-work classes were taught by Mr. Earl Burnett.
