In 1964 he published Orchids of the Western Great Lakes Region, a book for which he was awarded the Minnie O. Robinson Memorial Medal. This year Mr. Case earned a listing in the American Men of Science, an honor highly coveted by American scientists. An accomplished speaker, he instructs adult evening clas- ses at Delta College in addition to teaching classes at Arthur Hill. Mrs. Chris- tine Horvat has been performing such duties at Arthur Hill for three years. Mrs. Horvat says: “I love working with the students here.” Mrs. Christine Horvat promote Para-Pros advise assist Para-professionals, a group of teachers’ aids numbering twelve, were a new addition to Arthur Hill this year. Among their numerous duties were keeping order in the halls and during study periods, and assisting students by answering questions. Para-professionals had become necessary as a re- sult of the growing size of study halls and lack of teachers to supervise study periods. Their addition made it possible for teachers to devote more time to preparation and teach- ing of their own classes. Members of the group include Mr. Willis Allen, Mr. Bruce Braun, Mr. Lloyd Clark, Mr. John Denton, Mrs. Carol Evans, Mrs. Shirley Ferguson, Mr. Gor- don Forbes, Mrs. Katherine Granville, Mr. Bennie Jiminez, Mrs. Jackie Schafnitz, Mrs. Nancy Salesky, and Mr. John Thayer. Mrs. Nancy Salesky comes to the aid of Marsha Rose and Cindy ane ci pe eager ea roa ha nee oe Schramm in sixth hour study hall in the cafeteria. Assisting students Hallett, joined Arthur Hill’s staff this VL ONE Vl ; and answering questions are two of the many services performed in the main office. Additional secretaries are Mrs. Arline Beeker, guidance center, Mrs. Phyllis Cappell, attendance secretary, Miss Doris Frye, main office, and Mrs . Christine Horvat, also of the main office. 16
