Harve Kaufmann Reigns as “‘King of the Hill” Early on the morning of April 24, the 1967-68 elec- tion campaign opened. At 7:00 A.M., a full hour before school, the eager campaigners and their committees en- tered the building and began their job of putting up post- ers and passing out campaign buttons. The wild scram- ble to put the funniest posters in the best places turned the usually quiet atmosphere of the school into an area of mass confusion. When the other students began to arrive, they were heavily bombarded with “Vote for Me” badges from all sides. The candidates for the election were president—Gary Herzler, Harvey Kaufmann; secretary—Ann Cortopassi, Waunita Elliott; treasurer—Vincent Lutskus, Michael McCormick, Marie Richter, and Susan Pinnell. After two days of steady campaigning the candidates appeared in a special assembly in which they all made a speech telling of their qualifications and reasons for election. The results of the election, which was held after the assembly were: president—Harvey Kaufmann; vice-president—Gary Herzler; secretary—Waunita Elliot; treasurer— Michael McCormick. CAROL BIRD DECLARES, “This is a hold-up” during a skit. Fol Tes : TS ae HE GET He geTTER He LOG Weis FOR WAR GARY HERZLER proudly displays one of his many election posters. RICHARD TOFT checks the posters once more before voting.

Homecoming Ceremonies Bad weather marred the beauty of Homecoming week this year at Arthur Hill. Rain and cold weather dampened the clothes, but not the spirits of the Homecoming Court and the many loyal Hillites who turned out for the game and dance. Thirteen girls seemed to float on “Cloud 9” during the 1967 Homecoming activities honoring them for their selection to the court. Mounds of ‘‘angel hair”’ helped transform the auditorium stage into a heavenly setting for the annual Homecoming-Pep assembly. Cynthia Braun reigned as queen. At the assembly Cindy was presented with the tra- ditional red roses. Mr. Randall Braun, Cindy’s father, was there to congratulate the queen and court. The dance, following the game, was also decorated in the “Cloud 9” theme. Count and the Colony pro- vided the music for dancing and entertainment. SENIOR FULLBACK, Mike Schwartz, runs through rain and mud at the 1967 Homecoming game. Fowler, Jane Middlebrook Ann Cortopassi, Martha Smith, and Connie DELIGHT AND WONDER are expressed by Susan Pinnell, Jane Frick. Middlebrook and Mary Hamather after being chosen for the Court. 21
