COACH NESTOR, Harve Kaufmann and Joe Oeming watch as Art Dijak introduces the football co- captains for 1968-69. Unique in 1968 Assigned Seats and Awards Assembly New Features In hopes of promoting a more courteous audience atmosphere, assigned seats in auditorium assemblies became mandatory this year. A special “trial” as- sembly was held to acquaint students with the new procedure. The football awards assembly held in the fall was another new feature this year. Instead of the usual private distribution of these awards, a school assembly was given. Each boy was recognized for his achieve- ments not only by his parents, but also by the faculty and students for whom he played. Besides the award giving, Hillite talent was displayed by a special ma- jorette routine, mood music by the Pep Band, and a violin trio. In order to promote greater enthusiasm for the winter sport of swimming, a pep assembly was held for the Midland meet in February. Complete with newly revised cheers, the assembly boosted the morale of the swimmers for a victory. THE SWIM TEAM, coached by Donald Morey, is honored at a swim team pep assembly, a first in the history of Arthur Hill.
