Saginaw has an able, hardworking personable . new superintendent of schools. Mr. Charles C. Coulter was appointed by the board of educa- 1 tion on May 3, 1957. First hand knowledge of I the problems facing the Saginaw schools was gained by Mr. Coulter during his twenty-eight I years in the Saginaw school system. In 1929 he Hrst came to Saginaw as head of the science V, department at Saginaw High School. In 1940 he . was promoted to assistant principal. Six years ago he became assistant superintendent. When 5 Mr. Miller resigned he was named acting super- intendent until the time of his appointment as f v superintendent. , The tremendous success of Business-Educa- tion Day is credited to Mr. Coulter's leadership Y and initiative. In the new age of science his 1 experience in science makes him especially li appreciative and sensitive to the need for added emphasis on education in that field.
