DON KERR, for his pencil drawing, and HAROLD KLUCK, for his pastel drawing, entered the Scholastic Regional Art Contest won Certificates of Merit. ROBERT PALMER received a Certificate of Merit for his tempera painting in the Scholastic Regional Art Contest. ALAN KNOLL received a Cer- tificate of Distinguished Performance for a high score in the Pepsi- Cola Scholarship examination. JENNIE SABOW took top shorthand honors when she passed the 140-word transcription test during her second year of transcription. TED AUNGER placed third in the state for sports writing and MAE-SUE STEVENS placed third with her news story in the Michigan State Col- lege Contest. NORMAN ZILBER, current events expert, won high score in the Time Magazine current events test. PHYLLIS VOIGT won honorable mention in the Quill Scroll Society JOANNE HARMON, BOB DINGMAN, and KATHLEEN BUEKER placed first, second, and third, respectively, in the Women’s Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars essay contest. editorial contest and placed third in the American Legion National High School Oratorical Contest. RHODA BRAUN won honorable mention in the state with her essay submitted to the Quiz Kid essay contest. GERALD WHITE qualified for the National Rifle Association Distin- guished Rifleman Award, the highest Junior Division award. ROLAND TROGAN won first place in the oratorical declamation division of the Saginaw Valley Forensic Contest. SUZANNE KANE was one of two delegates chosen by the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion to represent Saginaw at the Citizenship Training Camp.
