CLASS PROPHESY Bellarthur, in the year 1963, this big modern city still has the friendly inviting atmosphere toward the Seniors of 1951 of Arthur High School, that it had twelve years ago as a little spot with a store here and a store there with the local post office in the back of one of the stores,, Let’s take a stroll down the main street of this city and see if we seen any of the Seniors of 1951. First, we see a healthy looking person who seems to be very energetic and gives the impression of being a go-getter. No wonder, for now I see that it is Sidney Allen who, as we recall had ambition from the very beginning. You remember he could read before he was five years old. His hands are full of gauges which he sells for the dashboards of cars. These gauges are his own invention and they register the number of gallons in the gas tank, rather than full, half full, or empty. Now here comes into sight a beautiful yellow Buick convertible. These must be some very ritzy people, for there is a uniformed chauffeur driving. Why, it’s Vernon Nichols , and there sitting beside him is evidently his employer and owner of the car Glenn Strickland. He surely does look prosperous with that monocle at his eye. But who is that in the back seat. Of course one of them is Glenn’s wife, long, thin, sweet- dispositioned and shy Peggy Heath. The loyally devoted and serious person beside her is her old“friend Mattie Pearl Rhodes . The other nice looking yound lady is Bettie Lou Jpnes T They are really havinr? a good time riding in that beautiful convertible with the top thrown back. Here comes the town’s outstanding horticulturist, Pennie Johnston , She, very unusually, attended the state agricultural college and has now developed a new dehydration process that converts friiit into candy. Now we glance across the street and we see a man wearing a raincoat although it ' s a bright and sunny day. There must : e somethj.ng wrong here. No— you recall, in your high school days Robert Crawfor d was one who had many loves. Yet he was known as one who was unlucky in love. So, he finally turned his emotions and mentality toward laboratory reserch and he has now produced a water-resistant, water repellant cotton fibre for raincoats. To cut advertising costs, he always wears one of the coats, rain or shine.
