CLASS HISTORY We began our glorious school days in 1939 , many of which we have regretted, and many which we would like to wander over again. Miss Edmundson was our first grade teacher. We learned how to Dehave although it seems that we forgot to, sometimes. We enjoyed our second year very much under the guidance of Miss Blanche Allen, We well remember the aquarium. We shall never forget our third year with Miss Parker, Miss Myrtie Peterson was our fourth grade teacher. She was basketball coach and had little time to spend in the room. That year she had us to demonstrate our singing talent. We must admit some were very poor. We really learned our geograpl: and arithmetic under our fifth grade teacher. Miss Annie Whitford, We experienced our first weiner roast in the sixth grade. Miss Florence Pace taught us how to play soft tall. We gave our best play, Narcissus. We will always remember Evelyn Arnold, the main character. In the seventh grade most of us experienced our first slap in school. Miss Fannie Allridge was an old maid and didn ' t have enough patience to contend with the rowdy group. Well, all of us learned more that year than any other. Our eighth grade teacher was Mrs, W.V. Pendleton, a native of Virginia. Of course, we made fun of some of the words she pronounced. Our Freshman year was by no means dull, Mrs. Floyd Hendrix was our homeroom teacher. She taught us practically every subject we took. What would our high school days have been like without Mrs. Hendrix? Believe us our Sophomore year was a hum-dinger, Mrs. Charles Tucker, a graduate from Arthur High School, was our home- room teacher. She also taught us science and world history. Boy I She really knew her history or anything she taught. We thoroughly enjoyed having Mrs, Tucker as our teacher. Our Junior year brought about many hardships. Raising funds for the Junior-Senior Banquet was a problem. With donations from Mr, To« Heath it was a swell success. We really were happy to be able to get our class rings.
