I, Ardeen McLawhorn leave my guard position on the basketball team and my popularity to Trilby Lee Smith. I, Harper Rasberry, leave my ability to drive anything on wheels to Weldon McLawhorn, and my wittiness to Robert Crawford. I, Roland Young, leave my good grades and my ability to pay attention on class to Larry Lewis. Article V To everyone - parents, faculty members, friends, and fellow- students, we leave our love to each of you and with all our heart we sincerely hope that you will be happy through all the years of your lives. We now appoint Mr. Garlan Bailey chief executor of this, our last will and testament. Signed: The Graduates of 1950 CLASS PROPHESY The sun rises again over the modern, hustling little city of Bellarthur - truly a picture of progress and prosperity. Let’s look in on the graduates of 1950, for they helped to make it so. See that imposing structure across the street? That’s the First National Bank of Bellarthur, and there’s the president going in the door now. Who would have thought that Harper Rasberry would have made the grade and become a bank president? Ahi What a lovely lady that is walking down the street. One can tell at a glance that she is a business woman, and successful too. I -JVhy it’s Ellen Lloyd J I Above the noise of the busy street can be heard another sound. ! The roar of the motors of a large passenger plane fills the air. The plane is one of many belonging to Pan-American Airways, which has a I branch in Bellarthur. President of this local branch is none other than our old classmate Roland Young. That’s a shiney new patrol car Cpl. Bill Erwin is driving. We understand that Bill has a fine record in Highway Patrol work. Criminals had better watch out when he gets on their trail. II

In case you re interested the new patrol car we spoke of came from Auto Sales Co., which is owned and operated by James Gurganus. He is justly proud of the company’s good name and large volume of business it does. As we make our way along the crowded streets, we come to the hospital. It is a great asset to the vicinity, and our own Ardeen McLawhorn is superintendent of nurses here. Her husband cares for the children. Working here, also is Alma Daniels who has won wide acclain for her outstanding work in the nursing profession. But Frances Crawford ' s achievements will not be overshadowed by anyone else ' s. She is a famous dietition and has her headquarters here. A taxi pulls up to the curb in front of a fashionable res- tuarant. Out steps Adm. Henry Dunn dressed in the uniform of the Navy, and escorting a beautiful blonde. Let us walk on till we come to a familiar landmark - one which we all love and cherish, Arthur High School. Although it has been remodeled and has all the facilities of a modern school, it still : looks familiar. Virginia Crawford is the basketball coach now and I they have a championship team. And last, but not least, there ' s Oscar Hodges who lives in a : small house in the suburbs. He is a professional writer and world 1 traveler. He expects to publish another book soon, which is an ac- ; count of his travels in China. Well, we have seen what the graduates of ' 50 are doing. Now in 1960, we have tangible evidence that those graduates built their [careers and lives upon solid foundations. Bravo i Three cheers for I the graduates of 50.
