JUNIOR CLASS ACTIVITIES I x ffasx 0143 On August Za ninety students registered and on September l began their Junior year which proy ed to be the most enjoyable of all their years in high school Most of these students had been with us an preyaous years but also into our midst came a number of new classmates who immediately patehed in and dad their slaare ofthe work September IO brought the day for the Junior Class Ptcnie lt was Iaeld at Marable s Dam Eyerybody had a good time and there were no casualties lhen began the naoney raising enterprises We sold candy gum and soft drinks at all football basketball and intramural basketball games Then on December 5 we were granted The Mummy and the Mumps lt took lots of work and naany hours to complete practaee on it Then on December I8 at 8 OO the play was presented It was a hilarious comedy and was a dramatic as well as financial suceess On April 9 a benefit show was held bringing an a large share of our money 'I o break the monotony on December I0 Christmas vacations began Some slept some rested some worked and eyen a few studied but most of us caught up on our going Then as eyery good thang must laaye its end so dad these and on January 6 everyone truelged back to school but this time with naore yam and vigor after has long re t nl he year was brightened now and then by parties giyen by the Journalism Class At these dances the Juniors were quite noticeable yitterbuggang and doing the Cwonga which was yery typical of these parties Another outstanding happening of the year took plaee on the night of March 20 w hen two Junior couples seryed as Princesses and escorts to the ueen and King who were crow ned that night The erowd was composed of a large number of Juniors also nl he ball was held in the small gym w latela was beautifully decorated for the occasion 'lhe climax and most talked about eyent of the year was the Junior Senior Banquet w hich had been the goal all through the year Fl his banquet was held at the Carper Building which was colorfully decorated to follow the Allied Victory theme 'I he Juniors had spent lots of time on this banquet and you eould well tell it Vlany worthwhile things haye been aecomplashed thas year but they could not have been without the adyice suggestions and prodding of Miss Alma Sue Felix Mass Ruth Brown and Vliss Ann Howarth our Home Room teachers To them we express our deepest gratitude and respect All an all it s been IVOVDERFUI I-ht' Bulldod N regex X K 1 1- l ,I XII V' 1 X I 'l ,If Ir., If , i I1 I ,Z I I I NX y ' ,, 1---.t 1 X X K , ,Q gg, ss 1 I J ' f ' K I .1 l W! f f ' ' V I: yr 1 Lg, I , ' 'Azul X fl' I I I I I ni el ,VI H L I-.
