1 MIGHT TO Looks are not everything! Maria Alvarez: The moment they announce my name as being freshman princess, I was so surprised! I did not think I would have a chance for this great honor. I just wish people would stop treating me differently now that I am princess. They react as if I am very special when actually they are the special people. Caroline Rioja: I was very honored for being elected for sophomore princess. My family and friends helped me a lot through this experience, and I am very grateful to them for be- ing there when I needed them. It has been a great year for me. I wish every girl could experience being princess for a year as I have. Lori Johnson: Being able to represent thi junior class as their princess wa a great honor. It was for them tha- I was nominated. I wish I couk thank each person individually but since I can not I will do sc now, Thank You Junior Class! i 28 jcLKsing on Student Life Homecoming.

WinT€R ROS€ A very magical thing oc- curred in the Long Beach Hyatt Regency ' s spacious new ballroom, on December 19th, 1983. It was the beginning of the Winter Rose , Artesia ' s annual Christmas Dance. The evening was filled with excitement and romance, with a little aid from Romantic Rhythm and Kalva Productions. As the evening con- tinued you could see couples dancing, talk- ing, eating, and at one very special moment you could see a very excited Snow Queen and King. That special honor went to Carol Bradshaw and Lee Unas. At the end of the evening you could feel the happiness radiating out of the sponsors Girls ' League, at the success they had created at the Winter Rose i 1 - ,ik m ■k i „, 1 k 1 i i ' ' 1 M y r i fc i • jBLi 1 I i ' Fi ' my f r 1 1 1.
