The Arte- sians took the cake for involvement, spirit, talent, etc. And it was Artesians like yourself that made our school an exemplary one. We were offered a wide variety of activities in which to partake in and become more involved. Fashionable? Of course, being in the spotlight re- quired fashionable at- tire! But with fame came responsibility for Arte- sians and responsibility and achievement go hand in hand. Way to go Artesians . . . we ' ve got it made! 13

fOCUSIMGOM MlR CLeS The Artesian Nerd Control Staff searched our campus for that one ideal nerd whom we changed in- to Artesia ' s heart- throb: Shane May! He had a total makeover from head-to-toe. First we got rid of the glasses, and gave him contacts. Then came a nice clean shave. Afterward we order him into the shower, and gave him a quick lesson on Fashion! A miracle? However you dress- ed it was probably following a trend or showing a flair of certain originality. Some popular items were Converse All-Star High Tops, panadores, karate shoes, and Gotcha shorts. Clothes were an important part of your look but ac- cessories accen- tuated it and pulled it together. By wear- ing dangling ear- ings, wrapped hip belts, breaking jackets, unique jewerly, wide belts, and thin ties, Arte- sians set themselves apart. Even though we knew Artesians most everyone tryed to stay with the idea of being fashionable. 14 Focusing on . . . Fashionable Artesians. I
