At last, one more week is over and what are weekends for anyway to celebrate of course! You went home from school, put a load of wash in the washer, fixed yourself a snack, and sat down in front of the tube. Hey it ' s Tom and Jerry! Suddenly the phone rang, you answered it with an annoyed hello (after all they did interrupt Tom and Jerry!) A friend wants to know about tonight. Well, we could go to a pardee, cruising, or dan- cing. But however we chose to spend our weekends, we the Artesians, never seemed to get enough. P ue 1. Where did we spend most of our weekends? 35 ' ; ' ' ( Drive in movies. 207, Atliome 15% Parties 147f Friend ' s House 10% Mall 5% ' At work 1% Fishing 2. What did you spend most of your money on? Food Arcade Gas Shopping 3. Our 1 choices are . . Parties Shopping Beach Dancing Concerts Movies 3 1. While shopping with friend Florabell Fortin, Jayme Davis ad- mires a coat. 2. ( «H FOCUSING ON . . . Spirit You stayed up Almost all night making confetti for the big rally the next day. After all it was class competition and you wanted your class to be the proud owner of a spirit stick. The alarm went off but you slept through it. 45 minutes later an excited parent ran into the room and shouted Wake up. Wake up you ' re gonna be late for school. You jummped out of bed, put your school colors on, and dodged a passing car to make it to the ralley on time Whew. You reach the gym just in time to catch a glimpse of the Pioneer Patrol as they finished their routine. The commissioner of spirit Patty Flowers an- nounced the start of class competition, you scream- ed and yelled so loud, you suffered from laryngitis the entire week. 2 6 Left page: 1. Varsit - Cheerleaders practice hard before the big game on Friday. 2. Melissa Bar- tolome shows her school spirit at the rally with the ).V. Cheerleading mascot. 3. The gift to 21 proved that he is loved. Left page: 1. Artesia High School Proud Footb all team shows great confidence at the pep rally before the game. 2. The junior class shows their enthusiasm, as they try to win the spirit stick. 3. Sanford Brown recieves his good luck gift from the cheerleaders, as Vic Malone and Mike Shafee peer into it. 4. At the rally Able Najm wants to prove the football players are the loudest. 5. Spirited fingers sway along with the alma mater. 6. 1, 2, 3, pull! grunts the Artesian men in a tug-of- war game at the lunch pep rally. Focusing on . . . Spirit. 9
