All nations and all peoples mark the passing of years in terms of the inevitable cycles of the earth's orbit, or to the anniversary of the historical or religious event. All do not observe the same date, or celebrate with the same traditions the completion one cycle and the start of another-but all do regard the occasion as a time for inventory if accomplishments and failures, and a rededication to both individual and collective improvement to hasten realization of mankind's highest potential. Chartings for students of Artesia High School in 1973 will be developed as we progress through the days ahead. The final course will be determined by our day-to-day actions, decisions, and the degree to which these conform to the highest ideals and standards of society. Again, our ideals and standards may vary some- what, yet the basic, universal hope is the same: the enjoyment of peace, safety, order and tranquility by those who dwell within our society in following a course toward this goal, we hope all of us will be brought a little closer to universal peace, safety, order and tranquility. To all our students and faculty, we extend our felicitations as we look to the future, hopeful and confident of significant progress toward that ob- jective peace.
