ANDERSON SCHOLARSHIPS Amy Michael Duane R. Williams Among the most cherished honors presented each Honor Day at Tech are the Principal Awards. When Tech opened in September, 1921, Milo H. Stuart began his leadership of the school. He came over from Manual High School when the city school system started this new school on the former Civil War arsenal grounds. DeWitt S. Morgan, another distinguished educator, became Tech ' s second principal and later became superintendent of schools. Tech ' s third principal, Hanson H. Anderson, was one of the school ' s original teachers. After his retirement in 1958, he was succeeded by Cecil McClintock. Tech ' s immediate past principal is Howard L. McCLINTOCK SCHOLARSHIPS: for a boy and a girl who have prepared well for a career and who have a particular devotion to Tech. LONGSHORE SCHOLARSHIPS: for a boy and a girl who have helped achieve a better understanding among fellow human beings, have developed a mature manner, and have demonstrated loyalty to the school.
