GAYLORD ALLEN Congratulations To Mr. Allen Too Thanks and congratulations to another kind of graduate — Mr. Gaylord Allen, who first substitute-taught here in 1940 and soon became well known and well liked among Tech students as a speech teacher and a drama sponsor. He guided the senior plays here from the mid-forties to the mid-fifties. He has been Tech ' s director of guidance since September of 1959. A Tech High graduate himself, he received his first speech training at Tech. Also interested in journalism, he worked on Cannon staff three semesters. Recently he was among the alumni who received Hanson Anderson awards for their achievements. That honor — like a happy retirement — are suitable rewards for such Tech faithful as Mr. Allen.
