You've come a long, long way. In April of this year you celebrated your 200th birthday dating from the Battle of Lexington and Concord and the beginning ofthe long struggle for human freedom, Some of those years were bloody with wars, others throbbed with the pulse of one of history's highest human adventures-the quest for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Through half of that history Tech has played a part, at first as a United States Arsenal dating from Civil War days. The grounds served as an army post and a supply depot. Soldiers were stationed here during Reconstruction days, and on until the Spanish-American War. The almanac is an old fashioned ucompendiuml' fcollectionj of odd and useful information, complete with important dates, home remedies and did you know articles. In old times no home was without one. It is probable that Abraham Lincoln leamed to read with an almanac.
