1 VARSITY CROSS COUNTRY TEAM-FRONT ROW: James Trotter, Joe Burton, Nate Robb, Eric Glenn. SECOND ROW: Bruce McGeath, coachg Steve Scott, Nathan Harris, Howard Catt, athletic director. JOE BURTON, Steve Scott, and Nathan Harris do their daily workout. Cross Country runners build surprisin season Starting with almost nothing, a coach's dream came true this year for Bruce McGeath, head coach of the Varsity Cross Country Team. With only one returning letterman, and two men who had never run cross country before this year, Mr. McGeath put together a successful team. The Varsity Hnished the 74 season with 52 wins and 35 losses. They placed 3rd in the City and 6th in the Sectional. Running in three big invitationals, Tech finished 6th at Washington, 12th at Southport, and 12th at Columbus. Tennis team splits record half and half The Boys Tennis team had a .500 sea- son winning tive matches against tive losses. The team consisted of eight players with seven of them returning next year. The only graduating member is number one man Gary Davis who had a IO-0 rec- ord in his matches and continued on to the finals of the city tournament only to be beaten in the last match. The number two man Pat Arnato continued on to the quarterfinals before losing. The team practiced at Brookside every night when weather permitted.
