The new members of the Athletic Department, sometimes known as the freshman team, show us their football talents against Howe. 1974 FRESHMAN FOOTBALL TECH OPPONENT 6 Howe 8 20 Broad Ripple 8 34 Wood 12 22 Scecina 0 0 Arlington 8 O Marshall 14 12 Crispus Attucks 0 6 Chatard 20 Freshmen have rou h season The Freshman football team finished their season with a 4-4 record with many close losses including that in the final game. This year's team had a strong defense against a running attack, but when oppo- nents slapped a pass attack on them, they lost out, due to a lack of size. The of- fense moved the ball very well with many good runningbacks. The backfield was very quick and proved to have many good prospects for next year. They had a little more than average line for a freshman football team. Contributing to the team's four losses were blocked punts, bad breaks, and men- tal errors, such as penalties. Over all, Coach John Hurrle feels the team offers many good prospects for the Varsity.

Reserves end grind with winnin season The Reserve Football team, trying hard to follow in the Varsity's footsteps had a successful season in themselves. They finished second in the east division of the city with a 6-3 record and fourth in the city overall, with a 6-4 record. The team showed many sophomores as good prospects for the future. Coach Mel Bowers labeled the team as having a strong offense, which was sup- ported lirmly by a good running and passing attack. The defense showed a hard-hitting attack which contributed greatly to the success of the team. When you take into consideration that the team played only two home games, they turned out a well played season. THE TITAN DEFENSE holds Cathedral to a short gain. 1974 RESERVE FOOTBALL-FRONT ROW: Jerry Robertson, Tom West, Dave Griffin, Larry Griffin, Clarence Thompson, Burt Hanneman, Clarence Clay- ton, John Kitcoff, Tim Fuller, student manager. Key Club . . . They are 'Where it's at' Ever wonder where Key Club got its name? Key is an affiliate of the Kiwanis Club, an organization which tries to encourage youth, and encourage youth it does. The Key Club has been responsible for such things as Homecoming fireworks, canned food drive, gym cleanups, school and community cleanups, to name a few. Key Club has been involved in the community doing such things as the Diabetes Bike-a-thon, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, Toys for Tots . . . and the list goes on and on. When you see the community and the school need- ing help and getting it, look for Key Club, they'll be there. Shouldnit you?
