personal recognition To the freshman gazing through the Michigan Street- gate, apprehensive of begin- ning one of the most important eras of his life, four years loomed ahead like an eternity. When that same gate closed on the graduates after commence- ment, he saw those years as a swiftly passing memory. During his high school life, he had striven for recognition in scholastic, athletic, or personal achievement. He had added to the h o n o r s amassed by his rf as predecessors. ln facing the problems of ap- proaching adulthood, he had sought out companionship to share the moods, memories, and hopes for the future with passing acquaintances and life- long friends alike. He had fulfilled his hopes of success, had become known on campus, no longer fighting a world of anonymity. Those who received the sweaters are Linda Davis, Susan Newell, Janice Talbert, Linda Downing, Nancee Adams, Cheryl Harding, Jeffrey Mentis, Anne Stewart, Rita Corrado, Gary Ray, and Jeffrey McAfee.
