Row 2: Alice Szteleblak, Janie Webb, Thelma Garner, Fred Crisler, Mae Starkey, Opal Sterrett, Martha Cook. The lunchroom staff arrives at 8:15 a.m. to begin to prepare several thousand lunches needed to feed hungry students. From the beginning of the fourth hour to the end of the seventh, these hard-working staffers tolerate the gossiping and shouting of the pupils while trying to serve tasty lunches. The Health Center, better known as the nurses' office, is a quiet place where Tech-ites can rest when the sun's not shining for them. The nurses have a record of every student in order to know which students have visited them. Students with scratched fingers and broken bones alike are given first aid in the center. The nurses do not give medicine but call parents to inform them of their child's illness. These busy women sometimes find time to operate a dental clinic.
