Tall and stately, with the wise look which belongs only to the very old, the Arsenal still stands guard over the seventy-six wooded acres that make up the campus- acres that have ielt the heavy tread ot soldiers' teet and the buoyant steps of happy youth. Techtown has not always been a school, for trom 1862 to l903 these grounds played a part in army lite as a United States Arsenal. A military atmosphere prevailed from the time the Arsenal building was erected in l865 through the Civil and Span- ish-American War periods and again during the tirst World War, it is still evident today when we have again responded to our country's call. Yes, mobilization has come easy tor Tech for these grounds have served in every national crisis since l..incoln's day. Founded in l9l2, Techtown is now a thriving community. Within its limits are tound the activities, industries, business, and civic lite ot any modern city. Besides thirteen buildings where classes are held tor Techtown citizens, agricultural gardens, an athletic stadium, playgrounds, tennis courts, parking C

Another one of TechtoWn's popular walks where hopes are hoped and dreams are dreamed leads from Tread- well Hall to the old Artillery Building. Dedicated in 1940, the Milo H. Stuart Memorial Hall has become the cultural center of Techtown. 8 Hickory, dickory, dock.
