Greene. he iemester iliehietn Tech has just finished the best year of all, the one when the l1lO5f progress has been made, and when real Tech spirit has been most in evi- dence. She has undertaken great feats and has met defeat with a cheer. The splendid building, now in the process of construction is only a just reward for such spirit-spirit that has national fame. The work on the building has inconvenienced every one, but who has gruinbled or frowned? Who has fussed about the mud or the racket? All waited with eager anticipation for the laying' of the corner stone and then showed the visitors at that celebration that all Techonians are opti- mists. Three cheers for the new building! From a bunch of rookies, Colonel Perry has successfully develop- ed a well-trained army, resplendent in its khaki. There are boys in the corps holding ride badges, and boys who are sharks at drill. But, best of all, is the noticeable improvement in all, the finer posture, the quickened steip, and better health. - The girls have had a colonel too, one Miss Struble. Under her direc- tion, the Friendship Club, having as active members all the junior and Senior girls, has been organized. The wonderful work completed by its members is most surely worthy of note in the annals of 1920. Athletics! honors! and more--sportsmanship! The sectional bas- ketball honors were deservedly won by Tech, for she was fair and square the whole year through. Three cheers for the splendid boys

A series of lectures on map drawing and organization of companies and platoons was given. A new system was started whereby the freshmen were sep- arately drilled by experienced cadet officers who were designated as assistant instructors. A course of hre on the ao foot range indoors was established, most of the upper classmen taking advantage of this. Our Government inspector, Colonel McKinley, received the corps during February and spoke very well of the splendid showing. The wonderful campus with all its opportunities thoroughly impressed the inspector. Nile feel sure that we can count on much assistance from him in the future. Toward the end of the term an outdoor range was constructed near the magazine and advantage of this longer distance range was taken by all. ln this connection it is planned to have a range of at least too yards for use next year. The new 19133 model Springtields were issued and a demonstration of the use of the held equipment was made. The military corps took a creditable part in the Memorial Day celebration, the Centennial, and at the laying of the Corner-stone for our first new building in Greater Tech. Camp Custer Great interest is being shown in Camp Custer this year. It is esti- mated that 3,ooo men will be there: as usual Indianapolis expects her unit to stand at the head. Major Oury will be in command of the camp with Colonel McKinley as senior instructor. Colonel Mcliin- ley has evolved a system of diversiiied instruction that will give each man a chance to show his ability. Following Camp Custer there will be a national rifle shoot at Camp Perry, Ohio, and this we expect several men from Indianap- olis to attend, as members of the Custer team,
