The Girls Athletic Association is an organization the pur- pose of which is to assemble interested girls who want to de- velop their athletic ability, to further their knowledge of sports, and have a good time. The G.A.A. promotes higher mental and physical effi- ciency among girls through purposeful play and wholesome recreation. Girls who participate in the various activities receive points toward a blockA.G. and sweater. An honor roll plaque is awarded to the senior girl earning the most points cluring her high school career. Members must maintain a B average in Physical Educa- tion and display sportsmanship at all times. The girls opened a calendar packed with activities with the Sock Hop. Yuletide gifts were exchanged during the Christmas party. The playday at Santa Barbara provided a number of thrills, including a long bus ride. Various teams engaged in competition. Numerous play nights were held throughout the year with wide participation. Swimming in the new pool proved a wonderful diversion from the routine of school work. The yearly camping trip to Camp Talaki gave many girls an extraordinary sample of outdoor life. The annual awards dinner, where successful members re- ceived letters, pins, and sweaters, ended an active season. D5 MRS.
