DENTON District Superintendent Principal A,B. , M.A, , Whittier College ' There are moments when the mantle of despair threatens to fall on our shoulders, particu- larly when we contemplate how much in the world is left to be done and how little any of us has accomplished. Yet, each Spring as the seniors ease their way out of the trials of p ubl ic school life, we see in their eyes a glint, sometimes just beginning to glow, which almost al- ways betrays an e nth usiasm and optimism which they are planning to use in se cur i n g for themselves a place on this sphere. And our own plans are brightened, for we believe that our young people actually possess the Forces ne cessary in their personalities and capabilities to have their hopes turn to dreams and their dreams become accomplishments. In our own surroundings we have attempted to provide an atmosphere for learning, a setting which will make the development of the conditions of drive, enthusiasm, and knowledge which must antecede productive accomplishment. To the Class of i959 go our congratulations and best w i sh e s, with the hope that you will apply your energies to develop for yourselves happy and worthwhile lives which will have been of value and service to others as well.
