—-- Each year a group of young people enters high school, and each year another group - far more mature and in command of its faculties- leaves high school. The four year span between these two events en- compasses so much that to define it is almost impossible. To each person the experiences encountered are different, but all have one ex- perience in common - there is change. And so it is with the world in which you will live. For each, life will be unique; but for all of you, there will be change. It is our hope, as we send you on your way, that your experi- ences in high school will enable you to adapt readily to the changes with which you will be confronted - secure in the knowledge that, of all the things in the world, only change itself is constant. BOARD OF EDUCATION SEATED: Joseph Brierton, Curtis Gallenbeck, Joseph Johnston, Willard Roloff. STANDING: Fred Staus, Gustave Stoelting, Charles Wittenberg. MR. DONOVAN RICHARDS Assistant Principal The future of our democratic life depends on our faith in God and the education of our youth. I firmly believe that the present students of American high schools are the best-educated young adults in the world. The democratic educational system has no equal. It is true that professional educators and students alike must strive for constant im- provement. When you're through learning, you're through. The taxpayers of the Arrowhead district have seen the importance of educating young people. You are being provided with adequate facilities and a teaching staff of extremely high quality. Your responsibility is to reap the profits. Self- discipline and common sense along with self-evaluation will provide you with excellent tools to aid you in this oppor- tunity. The future is yours; proceed with a purpose. HARTLAND LUMBER CO. Page 7
