CLASS HISTORY On a bca trful September day ftfteen very green freshmen walked rnto the schoolhouse wlth knockrng knees We were Shrrleyrae Arbuthnot Pbyllrs Kraxberger Wllma Phrllrps Dorothy Lucore Mary Ruth Rogers Erleen Mrlburn Joleen Srnclarr Russell Sherffrus Don Campbell Benme Rand Rrley Norman Robert Peterson Don Lukow Delbert Tanner and Norman Davrs We were 1ven Mr Klooz as a sponsor However the year progressed very well and we soon got mto the swrng of thrngs We spent the last day of school at the Lrmon Brakes and rn the evenrng attended a show and returned home We entered the sophomore year wlth twelve members havrng lost Bennre Don C Rrley and Joleen and havrng garned Vern Sallee Thrs was of course the year that we served at the Junror Senror Banquet whlch we d1d very well wrth no serlous mrshaps We spent the last day of school by vrsrtrng the Cave of the Wrnds the Cheyenne Mountam Zoo Thrs the Junror year found us wrth eleven members We had lost Russell and Delbert and had garned Brll Rader Thrs was the brg year rn whtch we had the prlvrlege of dec oratrng the gym for the banquet and prom When we frnrshed rt looked very beautrful and followed the theme of Hawau Later rn the year we presented a play entrtled Keep Movmg whrch was a brg success For thrs last day of school we went to Elrtch s Gardens and to the Crty Park rn Denver 52 Thrs year fmds us the rulrng class w1th ten members after losmg Don L to the Navy After much work and many haps and mrshaps we presented the mystery comedy Sha low of Terror As rs only frttrng and proper we were the very honorable guests of honor at the banquet and prom Thrs was the prom we really en1oyed because we had not had to do the work for once The theme was sprrng and the gym was beautrful especrally the frsh pond But strll the most fun came when all the senrors left brrght and early one May mornmg on our sneak We went to Canon Crty and vrsrted the penrtentrary and the Royal Gorge We were surprrsed that they drdn t keep any of us rn sprte of the fact that one of the boys had a metal buckle that kept nngmg the bell We also went to Alamosa Durango Mesa Verde Grand Iunctron through Glenwood Canyon Leadvrlle and home agam Now we the class of 52 turn our rulrng hand over to the class of 53 Compllments of ARRIBA RED and WHITE ..49.. ..5O.. and seeing a ball game between the Sky Socks and the Bears in Colorado Springs, ..51..
