There are now twelve of us but a more lively and energetic class cannot be found in A. H. S. We greatly appreciated the reception given us by the Seniors at the open- ing of school. We went with fear and awe and left wearing our green rib- bons as symbols of our friendly initiation, we are now fullfledged high school students. Our dramatic ability was proved by our play, The Haunted Gate presented Halloweien, This was given to a full house and much credit was accorded Miss Twist for directing it so well. The cast of characters was as follows: Marion Hunter -- Johanna Schroetlin Grace Hunter -- Naomi Copley, Marie Kingsley -- Naomi Blair Irene Dodge -- Helen Klann Ruth Morse -- Dorothy Carlbom Philip Dodge -- Bruce Keckler Donald Herrick -- Wilbur Hamilton Ralph Dodge -- Ernest Heckman Matilda Morse -- Ruth Copley Angelina Dodge -- Eva Hall The boys' horseshoe stand and the girls' javelin-throwing attracted a large number at the carnival and we felt that we were as capable to enter- tain as the upper classmen. The final record indicated that we were third from the highest in the total proceeds, the Juniors and Seniors excelling us. We were activein basket ball in this, our first year. Bruce Keckler played forward on the first teamg Ruth Copley and Naomi Blair were subs on the girls'te1m. A few of our number have gone out for track. During the meet Bruce got second in the mile run, and third in the halfmile making a total of four points coming from the Freshman class. Eva Hall was our representative on the Literary team, playing a piano solo. Al- though she did not place, the experience will pave the way for future victory. From the first we have taken considerable part in the activities of the school. Seven girls and three boys took part in the operetta put on March 26. Three girls assisted in the eighth grade play given near the close of the year. Cooperation in later activity proves the fellowship our class is always ready to extend to our fellow students in Junior High. An evening of fun was spent April 23 as our party which was held at the school house. Games were played and the latter part of the evening dainty refreshments were served and we departed, vowing to long remember the good time enjoyed. Our number has decreased from fifteen to twelve. Naomi Copley is now attending Seibert High School, having withdrawn shortly after Christmas. Johanna Schroetlin is in Sutton, Nebraska, she too, left shortly after Christmas. We have maintained commendable academic work throughout the year and our class average May lst was 83 4 per cent. The purple and white is our banner and we place ourselves under it at all times.
